Definition: A financial statement that shows what a company owns (assets), what it owes (liabilities), and the remaining value (equity).

Fashion Example: The Fashion Boutique Co. has $500,000 in assets (inventory, cash, equipment), $200,000 in liabilities (loans, unpaid supplier invoices), and $300,000 in equity.
